Matt Booth’s retirement from the cigar industry proved to be brief. Fewer than six months after a press release announced his “retirement,” Booth had already returned.
His Room101 brand also resurfaced—though not immediately in full form. Booth’s first two post-retirement releases were collaborative projects with Caldwell Cigar Co. While they referenced the Room101 name, neither Hit & Run nor The T. was officially branded as a Room101 release.
The first true new Room101 cigar arrived last month with the debut of Farce. The line consists of five sizes, produced at Tabacalera William Ventura—an established Caldwell manufacturing partner—and distributed by Down and Back, LLC, Caldwell’s distribution arm.
Farce features an Ecuadorian wrapper, an Indonesian binder, and filler tobaccos from the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, and Pennsylvania.
